question

What impact will Brexit will have on the wiring regulations?

Answer:

Although we await the full implications of Brexit, it is expected that the impact on the wiring regs will be limited. This is because the European standards Bodies (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) are independent of the European Union.

Membership is not reliant on membership of the EU. Therefore, BSI’s work with European standards is expected to continue unaffected irrespective of the final agreement between Britain and the EU. BSI’s expectation post-Brexit is to remain a full member of CEN and CENELEC enabling UK experts to continue to influence the content of standards.?
